Why I Started Tiny Tummies and Big Messes

The Mama Behind the Mess

Hey there! I’m Ashton — a 27-year-old wife, remote-working mama, and full-time student navigating the beautiful chaos of motherhood with a toddler on my hip and another sweet baby boy due in September (boy mom for life!). Life can get messy, loud, and overwhelming, but I’m held together by God’s grace and the endless love of Jesus.

I’m passionate about creating a life filled with purpose, adventure, and faith — whether that’s through traveling, trying new things, or simply soaking in the little moments at home. Motherhood has stretched me in every way possible — physically, emotionally, spiritually — and while it’s the hardest job I’ve ever had, it’s also the most rewarding.

This blog, Tiny Tummies and Big Messes, was born out of a desire to connect. I’ve blogged before, years ago, but this is a new space with a fresh purpose. I created this blog in hopes of reaching other mamas who, like me, are doing their best to figure out how to navigate this wild and beautiful chapter of life — balancing nap schedules and school assignments, teething babies and work deadlines, all while trying to keep our hearts centered on Christ.

I know how isolating motherhood can feel some days, especially when you’re juggling so much behind the scenes. That’s why I wanted to build a place where we can show up as we are — messy buns, tired eyes, full hearts — and find encouragement, honesty, and community. Here, I’ll be sharing the real, raw, joy-filled moments of motherhood, faith, family life, and everything in between.

So whether you’re a fellow boy mom, a new mama, a busy student, a working woman of faith, or all of the above — welcome. Thanks for being here. You are not alone in the juggle. 💛
